5Love My Bearpaws  Sep 15, 2011
By Kitty
I just received my Chocolate Bearpaws. After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous about the size. I take a size 8 but in some cuts of shoe or boot I can take an 8.5. I ordered a size 8 and they fit perfectly! My feet were in heaven as soon as I put them on. I truly cannot tell the difference between these and the Uggs. Someone commented that there was no sheepskin fur on the insole where your foot rests. There sure is and it feels great. If I had gone a size up, which for me would have been a 9, it definitely would have been way too big. These fit the same as the Uggs, at least for me. Color was true to pic. I can't see spending a whole lot of extra money when these are just as good. Also, someone said that the other brands are made in Australia and Bearpaws is made in China. You better take a look again. They are ALL made in China. None of them are made in Australia! Some said that the outer skin of the others is sheepskin while Bearpaw if Cow leather. Well, yes, Bearpaw exterior is "Suede", not sheepskin. But "Suede" is more durable, in my opinion. Both are delicate materials. However, again read labels carefully on other known brands. They all say "Leather upper"....."sheepskin lining". None of them say "sheepskin upper" so I don't know. I have a feeling they are all the same. Bearpaw does make a fake suede and fake fur at a much lesser price. These (Emma short) is the real deal. I can't wait to sink my feet in these when the weather gets colder. My friend's "Bearpaws" held up better for her than her more expensive brand. For the money, this can't be beat. And remember, for all suede and sheepskin, you need to waterproof and stainproof them before using them in rain and snow. None of these brands claim to be waterproof or stainproof. They are suede in nature, after all. So you need to be careful. I will update again once I've gotten through the winter with them to let you all know how they held up. I will not be wearing them every day at the exclusion of all other shoes and boots so I plan to enjoy these for many years to come! Stitching and seaming seem to be the same as other brands as well. Can't go wrong for the money! Came quickly. Packaging was great. Got mine directly through Amazon, not third party merchant. Sometimes that can make a difference. When dealing directly with Amazon, I have never had a problem.

4good price and quality!  Nov 17, 2010
By jojo
bought this pair of snow boots about three weeks ago, and i cannot keep from wearing it all day long! soft, warm, and the color is just fine for me.

my size is 5.5 to 6, and I bought a size-6. The first time I wore it, I felt a little bit tight, but now they are perfect for my feet.

I haven't bought UGGs before, but I believe Bearpaw will not let you down, especially if you are looking for boots of good prices! :D

3not bad, but can be better  Mar 07, 2011
By fiona
I got a pair of Bear Paw after reading some good reviews about it. After wearing it for about a month, the inside wool lining started to come off. It's shedding like crazy but every time I take off my boots I would find tiny balls of wool rolled up against my legs. I have a pair of UGG and it's still good after two years. Bear Paw is comfortable as well, but I think UGG is a better investment. Bear Paw is a good alternative if you're on budget.

5Great boots!  Dec 10, 2010
By Auntie M
I have an extremely hard time finding boots that fit me well. Mostly, they're just too narrow. I usually wear a size 11, but having tried on a size 10 at the store, I figured they run a little small, and they do. I ordered a size 12 and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable and warm. Even though they are a very large size, I have the black ones and they don't appear as big as most shoes and boots my size do.

5Why buy Uggs, when you can buy these!?  Oct 24, 2011
By ALC123
I've been an Ugg wearer for the last 5+ years. When I recently ruined my favorite pair of Ugg boots, I wanted to find something comparable for less money. Enter the Bearpaw Emma 8" Shearling Boot! I got these in the Maple color. The color on Amazon's website was completely off. They look like a reddish-brown, so I Googled, and discovered that the Maple color is actually a light brown-gray. Perfect! I ordered these on a Saturday, chose the 2-day shipping, and received them on a Monday. Also perfect! And to top things off, I magically had some sort of $14.00 promotion applied to my order, so the total price -- with 2-day shipping -- was actually less than the price listed.

On to the boots....
They're wonderful! I will never go back to Uggs again! The inside is soooo soft and fluffy; the shaft, foot area, and foot bed. Like a cloud! The attention to detail is on point. The suede seems a bit thick/stiff, but that's o.k. by me. Nice, sturdy rubber sole too. These are SURE to keep my feet very warm and toasty this winter!

Sizing....
Here's where it gets a little tricky. With Uggs, I've always had to size down. I normally wear a women's size 8 in shoes and boots, and with Uggs, I'd always get a women's 7. I ordered my Bearpaw boots in a size 8. I was a little worried they'd be too big, but they fit perfectly. So, bottom line: Order what size you NORMALLY wear, in regular shoes/boots, and these will fit you just fine. These may seem a little snug at first due to the thick lining, but the lining will eventually compact a little bit.
